Tiles too big when using PostGIS without simplifcation and low zoom level

Martin generate large tiles when zoom leven 0-4 and very slow to generate the tile. When incrasing the zoom level 10+, the service response fast.
On my computer, it generates 200mb+ for 0/0/0.

Without good context, I assume that is to be expected.
At those zoom levels you are essentially asking us to return most of the contents of that area
Let's remember that we don't do a lot of simplification. We don't return geometry which is smaller than a pixel, but no actual simplificationor merging.

If something is unclear, I would love to improve the docs.

Due to postgres' performance you want to either go the basemap route or pre-generate the tiles of lower zoom levels.
For generating tiles, we offer martin-cp.

I am trying to use pre-generated tiles from martin-cp and rest from postgis, martin automaticly renamed one of them with adding .1 suffix.
Can I use one name with 0-9 from MBTiles pre-generated and 10+ fallback from PostGIS?

No, and I also don't think we should add this as a feature. Think about the case when there are more than 10 mbtiles.

But you can just name them as you want and as long as names are unique..
