Enabling SMB

I need to add SMB to my k3s cluster. Using Kairos-Ubuntu I haven't yet figured out the magic cloud-config. What's your recommendation?

what do you mean by "SMB"? There is a CSI driver for clients and there are several different servers which can run in containers, like Samba or Tuxera.

I have a SMB share that a k3s workload needs to access for writing logs and importing data. The helm chart requires SMB, but I would need the SMB client on each node that would run pods from that deployment. NFS is already present, but I can't seem to get the SMB client onto my Kairos nodes. Does anyone have a YAML snippet I can use, or an explanation of best practice to get that working?

ok, this is the CSI driver. As it happens, it is on my todo list for the next week or two.
There are two parts:

1. loading the drivers into the OS - to be done in the Dockerfile for the image creation, because bundles can't install drivers using OS packages - basically start from the OS container image, add required packages (if needed, depends on the distro: for ubuntu it is the cifs-utils package)
2. adding the CSI drivers into k3s - to be done with a bundle, which is specified in the config.yaml

Neither of these are particularly difficult and I haven't looked around to see if someone has already built a SMB CSI bundle.

The repo for the community bundles is https://github.com/kairos-io/community-bundles but it is missing a SMB CSI bundle. The resources needed are at https://github.com/kubernetes-csi/csi-driver-smb/tree/master/deploy/v1.18.0
