MD → DOCX: How to list all links?

Example input.md:

[Pandoc][1] is a [computer program][2].

[1]: https://pandoc.org/
[2]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_program

Example output.docx:

Pandoc¹ is a computer program².

𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬

1 https://pandoc.org/
2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_program

Alternatively, the links can be in footnotes, or whatever. Just I want them to be:

• visible when printed, and

• not directly in the text.

How can this be done?

This could be done with a Lua filter (see https://pandoc.org/lua-filters.html).
Basically you'd write a function for Link that would replace each Link with its description, followed by a footnote containing its target URL.
This would then work for every output format.

Thank you! I saw these filters and shied away from them. But now I realize how simple and elegant they are.

note.lua:

function Link(el)
   return { el, pandoc.Note(el.target) }
end

Then I run that with:

pandoc -o out.docx --lua-filter note.lua in.md
