Data replication (after failover)

It's not completely clear if it is possible to replicate Mimir data after writing time.
My configuration is supposed to cover following use case:

• there are two instances of Mimir
• each instance has it's own MinIO object storage (replication between them is in place)
• one instance is turned off for 1 minute (1 instance)
• metrics are pushed to alive instance (2 instance)
• then after 1 minute instance 1 is came back up
• all data is reflected if I request it from any of those two instances
• but if 2 instance is down then 1 instance returns nothing

1. Am I right that replication between instances works only at writing time?
2. Do I understand right that there is no way to replicate in-memory data between instances after both of them became alive?
3. I suppose that in this use case there is only one way to replicate data after writing - object store replication. Is it the case?
