I've seen the experimental dual fisheye mode for the True 8K demo and was wondering if it's possible to record a single lens in fisheye mode? The regular single lens mode is cropping in a lot and since I'm used to de-warping and stabilizing in post, I was wondering if there's a way to record the "unprocessed" fisheye image.
Background: For POV shots I mostly don't care about the second lens and just need a single lens with a super wide FOV. In the past I was using my Hero10 with the Max Lens Mod and just didn't turn on the Max Lens Mode and recorded the whole thing in 4K. In post I was using ReelSteady for the stabilization (always felt like it gives me better results than the in-camera Hypersmooth) and manually corrected the image to the distortion I needed for that specific shot (+ changing the distortion mid video as an effect).
Now that I got the Max 2 I started comparing the image quality of the super wide FOV shots and the Max 2 wins by a lot, especially with labs tweaks. Recording everything in full 360 just seems a bit wasteful considering I don't need half of the image. Also I imagine it could save battery and reduce heat generation if only one sensor is recording and no stitching / stabilization needs to happen in camera?
I'm making a lot of assumptions here, so feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong or there's a better way to record POV shots with Max 2.
