ARCH mode – disable mode changes but prevent auto-record on power-up

Hi, I’m experimenting with the *ARCH=1 setting on my HERO13.

What I want:

Lock the camera so the user can only press the shutter button to start/stop recording.

Allow power on/off as normal.

Prevent users from changing mode or settings.

The problem I have:

When I enable *ARCH=1, the camera automatically starts recording immediately on power-up.

I would prefer that it only starts recording when I press the shutter button, not right after boot.

Is there a way to configure ARCH so the camera stays locked (no mode/settings changes), but does not auto-start recording on power-up?
Or is there another Labs trick / combination that can achieve this behavior?

No. Archive mode was designed for the camera to be hand out to someone with no idea on how to use the camera, other than to press any button to capture, and again to stop. If you allow the camera to boot, users can interact with the touch screen, this is why Archive mode doesn't support that.

Ok, thank you for clarifying. So just to confirm: if I want to hand out the camera to someone else, but I only want them to: Power the camera on/off. Press the shutter button to start and stop recording, while preventing them from changing the mode or settings — is there any other option in Labs to achieve this, or is ARCH=1 the only possible solution (with the auto-record limitation)?
Basically I’m trying to lock the GoPro into a “single preset” mode, but without the automatic record on boot. Is that possible with Labs scripting, or is it outside the design of ARCH?
