with all the hype about a 300 bit rate is there labs firmware for the new Max 2
anyone tried ? results, over heating problems
also interested go make low light recording ( shutter, iso?) better. will log enable me to get useable HD results after Resolve colour correction and filtering ?

300 is the upper limit for shorter captures, like under 15 minutes (all I've tested 300Mb/s it too.) Just like with MAX1 a 50% bit-rate bump is all you practically use for most demanding scenes. I shoot 8K24 (24.0 of course) between 180 and 200Mb/s with the in-camera denoise turned off (denoise in post.) There is a Labs tweak to improve low light, of course, lower ISO and longer shutter than the defaults help.

Any possibility for faster photo capture rates than the MAX 1? (Specifically thinking about street view/Mapillary images) MAX 1's fastest was 2 seconds.

It is the same on MAX2. Doing the stitch, blend and ERP output on camera, takes time, so while MAX2 has more processing power, it is processing more pixels. The video quality is very high, and with Labs you can tune it more than the photo modes.

What do you think of storing the image as is during the capture, to enable shorter interval, and add an option to stitch the photo in the Max2 later? I know another camera which offer this feature. It's very handy. And users who can't run the manufacturer stitching tool (linux users) are happy too.

Labs is about simple extensions, not undoing a lot of what is unique (and many ways better) in this camera. Linux users don't need any stitching tools with MAX2, as both video and photo are already stitched. Photo are in ERP, and video in EAC (a simple variation) and can easily be converted to ERP as needed.

Anyone get the GoPro labs firmware to work? I can not. GoPro site says it is compatible.

I don't know what that means, how are you trying Labs? GoPro hasn't posted the release Labs firmware yet (any day now.)
