How to keep GraphQL-Codegen from wiping types for which there is no GQL any more?

I have this issue that every time I try to generate new types for my GraphQL client, it wipes out those that I have already migrated from gql(...) expressions. I have looked for a corresponding config option, but to no avail, sadly. Do you have any idea how to accomplish this?

It was taken almost verbatim from the official docs. This is one instance of my function calls:

If I leave it like this, the GraphQL types are consistently re-generated each time, if I substitute it out with the actual import from the <path-to-gql-folder>/gql/graphql.ts file, the types get deleted at the next codegen. Now I am leaving it like it is here to avoid getting my types being deleted, but of course, it's verbose, and it would be great to swap it out with the actual query type.
