Best practices for setting up multiple WhatsApp numbers without getting banned

Hi everyone,

First of all, thanks for the great work on WAHA – I recently purchased the Plus version and I’m exploring the best way to integrate it into my workflow.

I’m currently facing a critical issue when trying to set up multiple WhatsApp numbers. My use case is mainly to confirm online orders via WhatsApp using different numbers (not for mass messaging or marketing).

Here’s what’s happening:
• I use a service (smspva.com) to acquire new phone numbers and activate WhatsApp accounts with them.
• I can successfully activate several numbers on the same mobile device.
• However, even when I send a single message manually from the WhatsApp app, the number gets instantly banned or flagged for spam.
• It seems like WhatsApp is detecting that multiple accounts were activated from the same device, and is penalizing this behavior.

This happens even before I use WAHA APIs — just activating and sending one message manually is enough to trigger a ban. As a result, I’m currently unable to use WAHA as intended.

Has anyone here encountered a similar issue?
Do you have any tips or best practices for safely setting up and using multiple WhatsApp numbers without triggering spam/bans?

I’m especially looking for suggestions on:
• How to “isolate” the activation process per number (maybe using emulators, VMs, or different networks?)
• Any tools or methods to warm up numbers properly before using them
• Whether it’s better to use SIM cards, virtual numbers, or other options
