It’s really not. That whole project is a mess. And choosing to make it Portuguese is certainly… a choice.

If you have any special requirements or ideas, we would love to hear them!

1. Evolution isn’t well-structured, and the codebase is quite messy. WAHA isn’t perfect either, but we do our best and don’t accept “quick fixes” unless they’re properly reviewed.
2. The Evolution community is primarily Portuguese-speaking, which makes it difficult to keep up with discussions.
3. The Evolution manager uses Material UI — arguably one of the ugliest UI frameworks out there (though that might have changed).
4. WAHA is partially paid, yes — but we actively contribute back to the WA-related community https://github.com/devlikepro?tab=sponsoring , and we provide a solid WAHA Core (free) version. As of now, the main differences are media sending, number of sessions, and remote storage support.
5. Evolution only works with one engine. WAHA, on the other hand, offers “one API to rule them all” — supporting all major players: web.js, baileys, and meow. And yes, meow is written in Go — something you simply can't match performance-wise with Node.js.
6. As far as I can see now, the WAHA community is a bit friendlier and more polite 😆
