How to install and use the app:
- Download Upload to Commons from Play Store
- Take a picture of something interesting (see: What files are OK to upload)
- In your camera app, click to view the picture you just took
- Press "Share"
- Select Upload to Commons 6 The first time, you will need to log in (if you don't have an account, create one at http://commons.wikimedia.org)
- Enter a name and description for the picture
- Enter as many relevant categories as possible (see: Categorization tips)
- Press Save
Pictures with a latitude/longitude are much more valuable, so please:
- Enable Save location in your camera app
- Before taking pictures, launch the free GPS Locker app. Another option is to install Fine Geotag which get precise GPS location just after a picture is taken and update its latitude/longitude, it is less precise but consumes less battery. You can use an app such as PhotoMap to check whether the pictures you take are correctly geolocalized or not.
