What you talk about has a lot of parallels with a recently created Berry project on Github: Related to the discussion starting here, until 2025-11-26: |

Something that is sadly still missing is a Home Assistant integration for Tasmota Zigbee gateways.
I wanted to give it a try. The integration on the HA-side is quite complex and changing it is beyond my capabilities. This is why I tried to fix my gateway to become HA compatible.
First of all to get the
SENSOR-topic payload compatible with HA I hat to usesetoption83 1andsetoption100 1Second HA expects all sensors to be listed in the discovery topic. So I wrote a short berry script:
This script creates a new discovery "sensors" topic and overwrites whatever tasmota published before. With this all temperature and humidity sensors become available in Home Assistant.
It is very quick and dirty and has many limitations. It only supports temperature and humidity sensors, although this could be quickly expanded to other sensor types.
There is also no support for any kind of switching device.
What do you think? Any ideas to make this better?
