It would be nice to be able to sync subtitles by using reference subtitles and a video. The synchronization would be done by comparing audio fingerprints with Aurio and using the resulting offsets to correct the subtitles. See AudioAlign for example.
Use case:
TV recordings with subtitles getting rereleased on DVD/BluRay witout subtitles.
I tried to do this some years ago here but this was quite bare bone. Adding a side by side view of the videos, with audio graphs instead of just showing the offsets for each line, would enhance the usability. Since the resulting offsets are varying for some milliseconds (kind of a jitter), grouping them into closest groups would be good.
Maybe showing the different fingerprint matches in a synchronization graph, like here in the bottom right, would also be a nice to get an orientation of whats different in the two audio tracks:
