Dataflow: metadata via QR code to database #3

Just thought I add another thread here (though, lower priority, I think).
I add a (unique) QR code to some of the devices. If scanned, it links to a URL like this:
https://mydomain.test/[device]
where [device] is the unique hardware ID of the device.
Currently, I either don't use this URL or link it to a generic status dashboard login page.
But if we like it, we could keep the QR code in the future, and I could at a feature to the web app that allows to update deployment details, i.e., some of the attributes in your databases, right before/during/after deploying the device in the field.
That would require support for such an update by any input API, though. (And some thought about security.)
