I would rather use copyparty to browse the files I have on my Synology DiskStation than log into Synology's homepage and use their crappy DSM File Station. However, I'm not sure how I would configure copyparty to do that, nor if it's a good idea (data corruption? root access? loops?)
Every shared folder on Synology inside /volume1/ is owned by
root
by default, then everything inside based on what file permissions you have assigned to Synology users via Synology Control Panel.Currently Synology instructions (https://github.com/9001/copyparty/blob/hovudstraum/docs/synology-dsm.md) tell me to put everything inside a folder called "media1", which is inside a Synology shared folder I created for the sole purpose of using copyparty. But I want to share existing Synology shared folders. Can I?
Here is my current layout on Synology:
I thought I would be able to add /volume1/data01 etc as mounts in the docker container, but I guess not. I tried and I'm getting HTTP 500 errors when accessing.
